Every season, I like to switch up my makeup. Some of my products are a constant, but because of the change in skin tone as well as my skins condition due to the weather changes, and my overall everyday style, I do like do switch up some things. Below are products I am currently obsessed with. All of these products I have been using for at least a couple of months because I want to really be able to test them out before I recommend them to you. All of the below is shoppable by clicking on the image!
For normal skin with occasional dryness. I love applying this after my skincare routine because it gives me an extra coat of hydration but dries matte so i’m not left feeling oily and shiny.
This helps fill in my large pores and fine lines before applying my makeup so it goes on evenly.
This has a natural finish and when I am running out of the house quickly, all I need is this concealer. I have been using it for years and love it. I use the color Custard and apply it before my foundation and right after my primer.
An ultra long-lasting, matte finish, oil-free, waterproof, full coverage concealer. I apply this after my foundation and use the color 7.
I use two of these during my makeup routine. One is to apply my foundation and the other I use to put on my translucent powder.
I use this to blend in my liquid blush.
I use this to blend in my concealer. It helps me make sure nothing is stuck in between my creases.
I use this brush to apply my bronzer. I love using a thick bushy brush so that it goes on evenly and I don’t look blotchy and orange.
I use this brush to apply my powder blush. I like to use an angled brush for my blush so that I can define my cheekbones more easily.
A weightless, liquid whip foundation with a multidimensional, velveteen-matte finish that wears for up to 24 hours. I wear the color 2.2 but can also be 2.3.
This foundation has buildable coverage and a natural finish, best suited for normal to combination skin. This is a lighter feel and more natural finish than the Beautyblender foundation. I wear the shade R300.
I blot on this powder using my Beautyblender after my foundation. It blurs all my imperfections and helps matify and blend my foundation evenly into my skin. You can also use this to blend your entire face makeup routine in and get rid of any access color after you have completed your entire face as well.
I love a good sun-kissed glow, and definitely need it during the colder seasons. I have been using Hoola bronzer for years and was so happy when they finally came out with a lighter shade. During the warmer months, I use the darker color but since I don’t have my natural tan, the darker color doesn’t currently match my neck. This is mattifying with no shine or sparkle, which I love for a natural finish. I can throw this on top of my NARS concealer when I am rushing out of the house and still feel complete.
I use the color blissful and love how it gives me a matte, naturally sun-kissed look. I apply to my cheeks and the tip of my nose.
I use the color orgasm and love how it gives me a pink rosy look while also has a bit of a shimmer for a highlight. I put this on my cheek bones and the tip of my nose and blend it in with a blush Beautyblender. This liquid blush lasts all day which I love because I hate when the color washes out of my face throughout the day and I look pale and sick.
I use to not believe in highlighters since my face is naturally very shiny, but it’s important to understand that having an all-around oily face is not the same way you would want your highlighter to be distributed. The above products mattify my face, and than I add highlight to my cheekbones, the arch of my brow bones, my nose because it helps it look more narrow, and my upper lip/cupid’s bow to accentuate my lips using the NARS highlighter. I use the color Albatross and love it because it gives me a glow without being too sparkly.
I usually start my eyebrows by using the brush to comb them up and then use the pencil to fill in all the gaps that I have. I use the Universal Shade and love that Dior offers this since I do have pretty dark eyebrows but very light hair, and I don’t like to make them look too dramatic but I do want it to blend in nicely.
This adds depth and definition to my brows. I love how the brush is small so I can ensure it shapes my brows nicely and I don’t over do it. I use the color Dark Blonde-Medium Brown and appreciate the color range so that it matches both my brows and my hair.
Side note, I use to over pluck my eyebrows until they were non existent. I got my eyebrows microbladed and am obsessed! It’s been a few months now so they are fading a bit, so I like to use these products to help fill in the gaps. I highly recommend you try microblading if you are in the same boat as I was. It was 100% painless, looks so natural and totally changed my face!
I honestly don’t use mascara anymore because I have eyelash extensions, but when I did use mascara, I would use these three together and swore by it! The Covergirl is a good go to for everyday, but to add a little extra umph to your eyes, the Too Faced mascara adds a lot of volume and thickness and the Benefit Cosmetics mascara adds extra length. I love this combo!
Side note, I highly recommend getting eyelash extensions. A lot of people think it is high maintenance, and it is in some ways, but I wake up in the morning and already looked dolled up because of them. It’s also easy at night because I don’t have to take off clumps of makeup from my eyes. I began my obsession a few years ago when I started dating Alex because I felt more comfortable going to sleep and looking like I still had makeup on, and waking up without rings of makeup under my eyes when I was with him. The biggest misconception is that they will ruin your eyelashes. They don’t! Your natural eyelashes have a lifespan of about 2 weeks and they fall out and regrow naturally. As long as you’re not the type of person to physically pull your lashes out of your eyes, you will be fine! I think they totally change my face and I am obsessed!
This tip makes it easy to do a thin or thick line and apply. It also doesn’t smear throughout the day which I love.
I don’t wear eyeliner everyday because I honestly feel that my eyelash extensions are dramatic enough, but if I am going out or trying to look more dolled up I will use my Kat Von D eyeliner for my upper lid in black and the Marc Jacobs eyeliner in the color matte dark gray so it’s not as dramatic.
I have been using this color/brush combo for years and I love it. The color is so pretty for fall. It’s more of a natural color that you could wear everyday, but you can also build it up for a smokey eye for those nights out. The brush is a blending brush that can be used for the crease, but sometimes I also use it as a lid brush since it’s small enough.
