Updated Makeup Routine

Updated Makeup Routine

My everyday makeup look would be described as “Natural Glam”. I definitely don’t love to look overdone with sparkle and shimmer, but you can tell I have something on my face for sure. Keep in mind that I have combination skin, so these are the products that work best for me. I love trying new products but I also have some staple pieces I can’t live without! Below are products I am currently obsessed with. All of these products I have been using for at least a couple of months because I want to really be able to test them out before I recommend them to you. All of the below is shoppable by clicking on the image! I hope you enjoy my Spring 2020 Updated Makeup Routine!

Make Up For Ever Hydrating Primer $37.00

For normal skin with occasional dryness. I love applying this after my skincare routine because it gives me an extra coat of hydration but dries matte so i’m not left feeling oily and shiny.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Make Up For Ever Smoothing Primer $37.00

This helps fill in my large pores and fine lines before applying my makeup so it goes on evenly.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

URBAN DECAY Quick Fix Hydracharged Complexion Prep Priming Spray $33.00

This gives your skin a burst of hydration so your makeup doesn’t look cakey.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Beautyblender Micro Mini $18.00

I use this to blend in my concealer and also when applying my liquid highlight. It helps me make sure nothing is stuck in between my creases.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer $30.00

I swear by this concealer. On days when i’m feeling really lazy, I will quickly dot this around my problematic areas (my red spots and under my eyes), blend it in, and run! I have it in the color “Custard” because I have a light to medium complexion (depending on the season), with a yellow undertone. One of the things I love most about this concealer, is that it’s creamy texture looks nice on my skin. I hate it when my concealer clings onto dry patches or problematic areas.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer $34.00

An ultra long-lasting, matte finish, oil-free, waterproof, full coverage concealer. I apply this after my foundation and use the color 7.

BeautyBlender Beauty Blender $20.00

I use two of these during my makeup routine. One is to apply my foundation and the other I use to put on my translucent powder.

Wet them in the sink, then ring them out, and use them to blend in face makeup. They give me a very natural finish. DO NOT put them directly back into your makeup bag to dry, because they will get super smelly and build up mold (EW, I KNOW!). I have a BeautyBlender case I put them in, as seen below.

BEAUTYBLENDER Blender Defender beautyblender Protective Case $12.00

IT COSMETICS CC+ Cream with SPF 50+$39.50

Obsessed with this and use it as my foundation! It’s super buildable for a full coverage. My mom, my best friend and I are all obsessed! I use the color Light in the Winter and Light/Medium or Medium when I am tan.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer $27.00

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

This concealer is so brightening, I am obsessed! Perfect for your dark circles. I also love using this for contouring! I think it makes my face look super flawless and “snatched”.

SIIA Cosmetics Duo Face Sculpting Contour Stick $30.00

I usually use this to contour my jawline and my cheekbones.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder $36.00

I blot on this powder using my Beautyblender after my foundation. It blurs all my imperfections and helps matify and blend my foundation evenly into my skin. You can also use this to blend your entire face makeup routine in and get rid of any access color after you have completed your entire face as well.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer $30.00

I love a good sun-kissed glow, and definitely need it during the colder seasons. I have been using Hoola bronzer for years. This is mattifying with no shine or sparkle, which I love for a natural finish. I can throw this on top of my NARS concealer when I am rushing out of the house and still feel complete.

This bronzer was probably one of my first makeup splurges when I was in 7th grade. I highly recommend it as a good go to! The shade somehow magically matches EVERYONE, which means I could also use it all year long… even when I no longer have my summer glow. It is also so hard to find a good bronzer that doesn’t have glitter or shine. I want my face makeup to look as natural as possible. I don’t use it with the brush it comes with because I feel like that would work best to contour, while I use my Hoola for all around bronzer. My IT COSMETICS brush is great for everywhere coverage.

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first*

IT COSMETICS Heavenly Skin Bye Bye Pores Powder Brush #701 $58.00

I use this brush to apply my bronzer. I love using a thick bushy brush so that it goes on evenly and I don’t look blotchy and orange.

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Contour Kit in Light to Medium, $40.00

This contouring kit is the best because it comes with the best shades. Again, I would rather have a color too light on my skin and have the opportunity to build it up, then it is too pigmented and dark and has it come out looking super blotchy to the point where it can’t be blended. I normally take the ashy brown and use it to contour my cheekbones, jawline, and chin using the angled side of the brush, and I use the more orangy-brown to bronze my forehead using the rounder brush and use the lighter shades as a natural looking highlight.

MAKE UP FOR EVER 158 Double Ended Sculpting Brush $53.00

Kylie Cosmetics Baddie On The Block Brush $18.00

I love pink blush shades that make you look naturally sun-kissed all year round. This pink is supernatural without being too pigmented or sparkly. This angled brush helps easily sweep the blush down across my cheekbones.

Sephora Collection Classic Must Have Angled Blush Brush #50 $28.00

I use this brush to apply my powder blush. I like to use an angled brush for my blush so that I can define my cheekbones more easily.

I use to not believe in highlighters since my face is naturally very shiny, but it’s important to understand that having an all-around oily face is not the same way you would want your highlighter to be distributed. The above products mattify my face, and then I add the bronzed color highlight to my cheekbones, and the pearl color to the arch of my brow bones, my nose because it helps it look more narrow, and my upper lip/cupid’s bow to accentuate my lips.

Grande Cosmetics GrandeGLOW Plumping Liquid Highlighter French Pearl $25.00

Grande Cosmetics GrandeGLOW Plumping Liquid Highlighter Bronze Beam $25.00

Everyday Eyeshadow

MAC Cosmetics 217 Blending Brush $25.00

NATASHA DENONA Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette $25.00

I don’t wear eyeliner everyday because I honestly feel that my eyelash extensions are dramatic enough, but if I am going out or trying to look more dolled up I will use my Benefit Liquid Liner for my upper lid in black and the Urban Decay eyeliner in the color Bourbon for the bottom so it’s not as dramatic. Sometimes I like to line the top with Bourbon too for a natural smokey eye effect since it’s a glimmering dark brown.

BENEFIT COSMETICS Roller Liner Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner $22.00

This tip makes it easy to do a thin or thick line and apply. It also doesn’t smear throughout the day which I love.

URBAN DECAY 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil $22.00

I use the color Bourbon which is a dark glimmering brown.

I honestly don’t use mascara anymore because I have eyelash extensions, but when I did use mascara, I would use these three together and swore by it! The Covergirl is a good go to for everyday, but to add a little extra umph to your eyes, the Too Faced mascara adds a lot of volume and thickness and the Benefit Cosmetics mascara adds extra length. I love this combo!

Even though I was already blessed with super long lashes, I love when my lashes are bold in color too. I am not going to lie, I have been pretty obsessed with eyelash extensions recently. I might be crazy, but I think they make my face look more proportional and I love waking up in the morning looking like I’m all ready to go! However, before my addiction, this mascara combo would make my long lashes look luscious and my eyes look wider and brighter.

Each of them has their own unique look. I have the Covergirl in dark brown and put it on when I want more of a natural look. The Too Faced and Benefit mascaras I have in black. Benefit it great for the lower lashes, and also lengthens the top ones really well. The Too Faced mascara is great for volumizing and thickening the lashes. I also felt like it helped my lashes grow even longer! With a combination of the three, everyone always thought I had falsies on, that’s how great these are!

Covergirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara in Black Brown $12.49

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara $23.00

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara $24.00

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Eyelash Extensions

I highly recommend getting eyelash extensions. A lot of people think it’s high maintenance, and it is in some ways, but I love waking up in the morning and already being ready to go. It’s also easy at night because I don’t have to take off clumps of makeup from my eyes. I began my obsession a few years ago when I was dating my ex boyfriend because I felt better going to sleep and looking like I still had makeup on, and waking up without rings of makeup under my eyes when I was with him.

The biggest misconception is that they will ruin your eyelashes. They don’t! Your natural eyelashes have a lifespan of about 2 weeks and they fall out and regrow naturally. As long as you’re not the type of person to physically pull your lashes out of your eyes, you will be fine! I think they totally change my face and I am obsessed!

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Side note, I use to over pluck my eyebrows until they were non existent. I got my eyebrows microbladed and am obsessed! It’s been a few months now so they are fading a bit, so I like to use these products to help fill in the gaps. I highly recommend you try microblading if you are in the same boat as I was. It was 100% painless, looks so natural and totally changed my face! If you are located in NYC, I went to Evertrue Salon and Anna Wong did my eyebrows. I am obsessed with them!

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask $20.00

The Laniege lip sleeping mask isn’t just for sleeping. I normally wear this during the day too under my lipliner and lipstick.

MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil $18.50

In the color Soar. A mid-tone pinkish brown. I start by lining my lips but then I fill them in with this color too.

MAC Cosmetics Matte Lipstick $18.50

In the color Velvet Teddy. A deep-tone beige.

URBAN DECAY All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray $33.00

*This also comes in a mini size if you want to try it out first!*

Perfect to use after applying all of your makeup to make sure it doesn’t look cakey. Sometimes I carry the travel size with me so that I can respray after a while to refresh my look.
